ABUJA, NIGERIA September, 2025 - The Federal Government has endorsed the forthcoming National Science, Technology and Innovation Communication Conference (STICOMMS’25), describing it as a landmark initiative to strengthen research and innovation in Nigeria.

Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, gave the endorsement when he received the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of STICOMMS’25, led by the President of the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Prof. Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, in Abuja. He assured the Ministry’s full collaboration and described the event as “timely and unique.”

Nnaji further pledged to assign two senior staff of the Ministry to the LOC to ensure effective representation, while also promising mobilization of agencies under the Ministry to actively participate in the October 21–23, 2025 conference, hosted by AUST in Abuja.

Earlier, Prof. Onwualu said the conference was designed to strengthen communication in science, technology, and innovation, stressing that it will feature keynote addresses, exhibitions of innovations, participation of research agencies, and profiling of the Ministry’s achievements.

The Minister’s endorsement, he added, opens the way for stronger government-academic collaboration to advance science, technology, and innovation for national development.
