NCC Welcomes Newly Appointed Board Members, Commits to Strengthening Digital Economy

ABUJA, NIGERIA August, 2025 –
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has congratulated Mr. Idris Olorunnimbe on his appointment as Chairman-designate of the Commission’s Board by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Commission also extended warm felicitations to other designate-Board members of the NCC and the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF).
In a statement personally signed by the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Aminu Maida, the Commission described the appointments as a demonstration of the President’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s digital economy. Dr. Maida said the new leadership team comprises highly esteemed individuals of proven competence, vast experience, and impressive track records.
According to him, the collective expertise of the new appointees will provide the impetus to steer Nigeria’s communications industry in the right direction while strengthening the regulatory mandate of the NCC. He noted that their strategic insight and strong governance would play a vital role in transforming the nation’s digital landscape.
The NCC expressed profound appreciation to President Tinubu for the appointments and pledged to work closely with the supervising Ministry and the incoming Board in delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigeria’s digital economy.
