NIGCOMSAT, Eutelsat Partner to Boost Connectivity with LEO Satellites

The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd has entered a multi-year, multi-million-dollar partnership with Eutelsat, a global satellite communications leader, to provide low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite services in Nigeria.
This collaboration leverages the OneWeb LEO satellite network to deliver high-speed, low-latency connectivity, positioning NIGCOMSAT as Nigeria’s foremost satellite service provider. The services will benefit government, enterprises, and underserved rural communities, supporting applications like remote communication, mobile connectivity, and offshore operations.
NIGCOMSAT Managing Director, Mrs. Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, described the partnership as a milestone in bridging Nigeria’s digital divide. She noted, “We are excited to collaborate with Eutelsat to deliver scalable and reliable connectivity solutions that will foster growth across government services, businesses, and communities nationwide.”
She also emphasized the strong Nigeria-France ties in advancing satellite and space technology, highlighting the partnership’s potential to drive innovation, accelerate digital transformation, and expand connectivity opportunities across Nigeria and beyond.
