ABUJA, NIGERIA February, 2026 - The Dr. Cairo Ojougboh Foundation has deepened its contribution to Nigeria’s education drive with a targeted intervention at St. Columba’s Grammar School, Agbor, Delta State, underwriting critical examination costs and rewarding academic excellence among students. The initiative aligns with broader government efforts to expand access to quality education and reduce barriers to learning.

At a special programme themed “Your Future, Your Choice,” the Foundation presented a ₦2.7 million cheque to cover WAEC, NECO and JSS 3 examination fees for eligible students. Top-performing students across the school’s nine academic arms also received cash awards, alongside the distribution of notebooks and learning materials to support classroom instruction.
Speaking at the event, the Foundation’s Chairperson, Mrs. Bose Ojougboh, said the intervention was both a tribute to the late Dr. Cairo Ojougboh—an alumnus of the school—and an investment in the next generation. She urged students to embrace discipline, consistency and focus, stressing that challenges should be treated as opportunities rather than obstacles.
The programme drew strong participation from the school’s Old Boys Association, led by Elder Ndudi Agholor, whose members reflected on the institution’s enduring standards and pledged continued support. School Principal, Rev. Fr. Joseph Ugboh, and the Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, commended the Foundation for sustaining a practical, high-impact legacy that motivates students and strengthens public education.
The event closed on an optimistic note, with students expressing renewed determination to excel academically—underscoring how targeted philanthropy can deliver immediate relief while inspiring long-term ambition.
