APRA Stands in Solidarity with Nigeria, Urges Continuous Dialogue Amidst Protests

By Gloria Sarauniya Usman

ABUJA, NIGERIA August 14, 2024 -

The African Public Relations Association (APRA) expresses unwavering support for the government and people of Nigeria amidst the ongoing protests against rising living costs. We commend the government's commitment to protecting citizens' right to protest and urge continuous dialogue to resolve the underlying issues.

While acknowledging the importance of protests in a democratic society, APRA condemns the reported loss of life, injuries, looting, and destruction of property. We call on all parties to cease hostilities and engage in sincere conversations to achieve swift and concrete resolutions.

APRA urges the Nigerian government and stakeholders to work together to restore normalcy and address the concerns of the people. We share in the grief of affected families and wish those injured a speedy recovery.
