ABUJA, 2024 - The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria has called on Nigerians to support the leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) under Mr. Mele Kyari.
At a news conference in Abuja, the coalition's Chairman, Mr. Friday Maduka, made the call in response to a youth coalition's demand for Kyari's sack. Maduka, also the Chairman of the Niger Delta Amalgamated Supreme Concourse, warned against the spread of misinformation and distortion of facts aimed at discrediting hardworking Nigerians like Kyari.
After an emergency meeting and intelligence report, the coalition found the allegations against Kyari to be unfounded and baseless.
Therefore, they gave Kyari a clean bill of health, acknowledging his progressive achievements in line with the federal government's policies and mandates.
Maduka praised Kyari's leadership, citing his vision for full petroleum production, which has captured the imagination of Nigerians.
He highlighted Kyari's commitment to the Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) processes, mechanical completion of refineries, test runs, and regulatory compliance, all aimed at making petrol affordable for Nigerians.
The coalition believes that criticism against Kyari is orchestrated by individuals who cannot withstand scrutiny of their own actions and underhand deals.
They urged all well-meaning Nigerians to support the NNPC boss and the corporation in delivering on their mandate to the nation.
