The Honourable Minister of State for Police Affairs emphasized the importance of succession planning, stating, "There is no success without a successor." This sentiment underscores the need to pass on knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) to pupils at the Police Primary School in Abuja.

During an inspection of the STEAM program, organized by the Honourable Minister of State and the Police Officers' Wives Association in partnership with the Peace Institute, led by Professor Hauwa Ibrahim, the Minister highlighted the program's objectives. The initiative aims to encourage children to take their education seriously, foster creativity and imagination, and develop a can-do attitude.

"The future of learning revolves around STEAM," the Minister noted. "By incorporating art, we aim to engage children who may not be science-oriented. We plan to expand the program to accommodate more students and continue training teachers to transfer skills and impact more students."

Imaan emphasized that the summer lesson program demonstrates the government's commitment to driving excellence in police institutions through the Renewed Hope Police Reforms. The goal is to make police schools the preferred choice within two years.

The Mandate Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory, Mrs. Adebayo Benjamins-Laniyi, announced that the FCT had concluded a STEAM program in four wards, involving 250 children per ward, including those with disabilities and vulnerable children. Notably, more girls than boys participated in the program, with a focus on transferring knowledge to indigent teachers.

Professor Hauwa Ibrahim, leading the Peace Institute team from the University of Rome and a visiting lecturer from Harvard University, revealed that 80% of materials used in the Art, Science, and Technology classes were sourced from trash. This approach encourages children to transform waste into valuable resources.

"The students have been inspired by the experiments they conduct in class," Professor Ibrahim observed. "The program has impacted 1500 children, and we hope to do more. Collaboration is key; together, we can make a difference. Nigeria has immense talent, and with collective efforts, we can unlock it."
