Federal Government Encourages Nigerians to Participate in ECOWAS Cybersecurity Hackathon

ABUJA, NIGERIA July 23, 2024
The Federal Government of Nigeria is inviting all Nigerian youths and IT enthusiasts to participate in the ECOWAS Cybersecurity Hackathon, a Capture the Flag (CTF) competition organized by ECOWAS and hosted by Nigeria in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, and NITDA.
This event aims to empower citizens across the region with vital cybersecurity skills, fostering a platform for young technology enthusiasts to enhance the cyber workforce in the region. Nigerian youths are encouraged to showcase their talents and compete with their peers from ECOWAS member countries.
The hackathon offers a unique opportunity for individuals and teams to demonstrate their expertise, acquire new skills, and network with fellow cyber enthusiasts. The event is open to all citizens of ECOWAS member countries, aged between 17 and 35 years, with teams consisting of 3-4 members, including at least one female participant.

This initiative aligns with the Federal Government's 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, aimed at training three million Nigerians in technical skills, including cybersecurity, to address the global talent shortage in the field.
