The Federal Government has established the National Criminal Data Fusion Center to enhance collaboration among law enforcement agencies and bolster internal security operations. Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, made this announcement during a Ministerial Sectoral update for the President's scorecard briefing at the National Press Centre, Abuja.

The center will consolidate criminal data, conduct analysis, and share intelligence products to support security operations. It will also facilitate intelligence sharing with security agencies in Nigeria and the international security community.

The Minister highlighted significant investments in surveillance systems, drones, and communication technologies to enhance real-time data collection and response. He noted the integration of forensic technology has improved criminal investigations and perpetrator identification.

The Nigeria Police Force has deployed cutting-edge tools like digital reconstructive analysis devices, drones, and infrared telescopes for intelligence gathering and verification in the FCT. ICT applications and platforms like the RescueMe App, e-CMR, and Police VGS have amplified e-policing strategies, enhancing operational efficiency.

The Special Intervention Squad (SIS) has achieved notable successes, including the arrest of 23 suspects and recovery of multiple arms, ammunition, and stolen vehicles. The Nigeria Police Force has embraced community-oriented policing, engaging stakeholders through town hall meetings and reinforcing the Police Community Relations Committee to enhance community safety.
