Governor Mutfwang Lauds President Tinubu for Relief Supplies to Vulnerable Persons in Plateau State

JOS, NIGERIA May 13, 2024- Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing food palliatives to vulnerable persons in the state.
The gesture, coordinated by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, aims to alleviate the economic hardships faced by vulnerable individuals.
Governor Mutfwang received the assorted food commodities, including maize, sorghum, millet, and garri, on behalf of the beneficiaries, mostly elderly persons. He urged them to use the items judiciously and not resell them, emphasizing the need to support their families during this challenging period.
The Governor announced an additional donation of over 26,000 bags of rice to complement the federal government's palliative, demonstrating his administration's commitment to supporting vulnerable citizens. He highlighted his government's efforts in ensuring security in local communities, enabling farmers to return to their farms and work towards a bumper harvest next year.
Zubaida Umar, Director General of NEMA, represented by Zonal Director, Bashir Idris Garga, explained that the gesture is part of President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Initiative, aimed at addressing the plight of the aged and vulnerable persons in society.
Hon. Sunday Abdu, Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, praised Governor Mutfwang's proactive approach in meeting the needs of citizens, describing the palliative as a symbol of hope and a testament to the power of unity in diversity championed by the Governor's administration.
The relief supplies include 7,480 50kg bags of maize, 8,840 bags of sorghum, 3,230 bags of millet, and 25kg bags of garri, among others.
