Minister of State for Police Affairs Urges NPTF to Leverage Act Review for Revenue Growth

ABUJA, NIGERIA - July 18, 2024 - The Honourable Minister of State for Police Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has emphasized the need for the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) to capitalize on the review of the act to address any revenue gaps. She made this statement during a courtesy visit from the NPTF management, led by Executive Secretary Mohammed Sheidu, at the Ministry's headquarters in Abuja.
The Minister stressed the importance of exploring alternative revenue streams, as the Nigeria Police Force requires rapid intervention projects to enhance its effectiveness and efficiency. She highlighted the need for modern technology to improve service delivery, citing the country's large police force and the importance of leveraging resources with sincerity.
The Minister emphasized the need for collaboration between the NPTF, the police, and the Ministry to avoid duplication of efforts and ensure effective strategy implementation. She also urged government agencies to consider the role of police in planning stages for effective national security.
Earlier, NPTF Executive Secretary Mohammed Sheidu pledged to work tirelessly for the Nigeria Police Force and its security infrastructure, acknowledging the agency's critical role in the federal government's ongoing reforms. He emphasized the importance of security for investment and growth, and sought the support of all stakeholders to achieve the agency's mandate.
