ABUJA, NIGERIA December, 2024 - The Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Police Affairs, Mr. Yusuf Abubakar Argungu, has urged staff to prioritize meeting customers' needs and expectations as part of the government’s commitment to improving service delivery for Nigerians.
Mr. Argungu made this call during the 2024 SERVICOM Customer Service Week held at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation’s Conference Room, Phase I, Federal Secretariat, Abuja.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration and synergy among government agencies to enhance service delivery, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration. "The Annual Customer Service Week is globally recognized as an opportunity to emphasize the importance of customer satisfaction in service provision. It is also a time to appreciate stakeholders, partners, service providers, and clients for their loyalty and support," Argungu stated.
The Acting Permanent Secretary highlighted the need to honor frontline staff, recognizing their critical role in ensuring positive customer experiences and boosting their morale. He also commended the National Coordinator/CEO of SERVICOM and the Department of Reform Coordination and Service Improvement for their efforts in reinforcing efficient service delivery across the Ministry.
In his welcome remarks, Dr. Fabian E. Ogbu, Director of the Reform Coordination and Service Improvement Department, noted that the celebration offers a moment of reflection and a call to sustain citizen-focused service delivery in accordance with global best practices. He emphasized that the occasion serves to reward employees while reaffirming a commitment to providing exceptional service to customers.
Mrs. Lucy Zach-Ukoh, the National SERVICOM Team Leader, lauded the Ministry’s staff for their dedication to efficient service delivery despite prevailing economic challenges. She highlighted the 2024 theme, "Above & Beyond", which underscores the importance of exceeding customer expectations and creating exceptional experiences.
The event provided an avenue to celebrate the dedication of both frontline and support staff, emphasizing the pivotal role of teamwork in delivering high-quality services to Nigerians.
