Ministry of Police Affairs to Collaborate with Finland on Police Reform and Development

The Ministry of Police Affairs has announced plans to partner with Finland's public and private sectors to strengthen police operations, training, and reforms in Nigeria.
The Honourable Minister of State for Police Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, made this known during a courtesy visit by the Finland Ambassador to Nigeria, Ms. Peena Plyvanainen, to the Ministry's headquarters in Abuja.
The Minister reiterated the Ministry's focus on harmonising police reform reports in line with presidential directives, enhancing community policing, public trust, and the technical and operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police.
She expressed the Ministry's willingness to explore partnerships with stakeholders and Finland's public and private sectors for support, training, and resource mobilization to improve surveillance systems, drones, communication technologies, and e-policing capabilities.
The Finland Ambassador thanked the Minister for the warm welcome and expressed her country's interest in collaborating with Nigeria's public and private sectors. This partnership aims to enhance the Nigeria Police Force's capability for real-time information gathering and effective response.
