"NASENI and Imose Launch Locally-Made Laptops and Tablets to Boost Nigerian Tech Independence"

ABUJA, NIGERIA November, 2024-
The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has partnered with Imose Technologies Ltd, a leading indigenous company, to produce and launch made-in-Nigeria laptops and tablets. This initiative aims to promote local content, foster job creation, and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasizes economic self-reliance and local industry growth.
The rollout includes the NASENI Zedon X-Pro, a 14-inch laptop powered by a Core i5 processor, designed to balance power and portability for diverse users such as students, professionals, and mobile users. Alongside the laptop, a versatile 10.5-inch tablet provides an ideal platform for activities like document editing, drawing, streaming, and gaming, making it suitable for both personal and professional use.
NASENI's Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, highlighted the significance of this partnership, calling it a "strategic move" that aligns with NASENI’s principles of "Collaboration, Creation, and Commercialization." Halilu stated, “We are reducing importation costs while positioning NASENI as a leader in Nigeria’s technological advancement. Our vision is that every Nigerian household will soon own a NASENI product.”
Imose Technologies Chairman, Osayi Izedonmwen, emphasized the company’s decade-long commitment to tackling uniquely Nigerian challenges through local production. “We are proud to partner with NASENI in this journey to bridge the digital divide and improve access to essential tech tools for education and work,” he said.
