NASENI Hosts Strategic Retreat to Strengthen Development Institutes’ Alignment and Impact

ABUJA, NIGERIA November, 2024- The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has commenced a two-day strategic retreat in Abuja aimed at fostering stronger alignment between its Development Institutes and the agency’s overarching goals and vision. The retreat brings together Overseeing Officers, Project Managers, Coordinating Directors, and key directors from NASENI headquarters to enhance leadership capabilities and promote strategic collaboration.


The retreat focuses on aligning the institutes’ objectives with NASENI’s renewed vision of innovation and self-reliance, ensuring resource optimization, and driving decision-making that supports the development of market-ready, innovative solutions with sustainable economic value.


Speaking at the opening ceremony, NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, described the retreat as a platform for action and transformation. He emphasized the participants’ pivotal role in realizing NASENI’s vision and advancing Nigeria’s technological progress.


“This retreat is not just about planning but about laying the groundwork for NASENI to lead Nigeria into a future of innovation and technological advancement,” Mr. Halilu said. He underscored the agency’s commitment to adopting global best practices in innovation management to create solutions that directly benefit Nigerians and align with the renewed hope agenda of the President.


Highlighting the principles of Creation, Collaboration, and Commercialization (3Cs) as the foundation of NASENI’s mission, Mr. Halilu stated, “We are here to strengthen the cohesion between our Development Institutes and NASENI’s transformative vision. This retreat marks a critical step in aligning our efforts to achieve unified progress and drive Nigeria’s technological aspirations to new heights.”


He praised the achievements of the Development Institutes in research, innovation, and addressing industrial challenges, while acknowledging the need for continuous adaptation and focus in a rapidly evolving global landscape.


The EVC/CEO urged participants to fully engage, think boldly, and collaborate purposefully during the retreat. “This is our moment to redefine our collective impact and reaffirm our commitment to excellence. Together, we will achieve extraordinary outcomes that position NASENI as a beacon of innovation and progress for Nigeria,” he concluded.


The retreat reflects NASENI’s dedication to fostering collaboration and advancing indigenous technological solutions that support the nation’s economic and industrial growth.
