NASENI Showcases Cutting-Edge Technological Innovations at the 19th Abuja International Trade Fair

ABUJA, NIGERIA September, 2024-
The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is proudly displaying a range of indigenously developed technological products at the 19th Abuja International Trade Fair, taking place at the Abuja Trade and Convention Centre on Umaru Yar’Adua Way, Airport Road, Abuja.
NASENI's participation at this year’s fair, organized by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), is aligned with its 3C’s principle—Creation, Collaboration, and Commercialization. This event provides the agency with an opportunity to highlight its technological innovations and contributions to Nigeria's industrialization on a global stage.
All 12 of NASENI’s Development Institutes, including NASENI Solar Energy Ltd (NSEL), a limited liability company owned by the agency, are participating in this exhibition. Among the featured products are: NASENI Transformers, NASENI CNG Conversion Centre, NASENI Solar CCTV, Automatic Change Over Switch, Solar Kit Trainer, Science Kits, Rotary Furnace, Digital Road Sign, Animal Feed Machines, Science Automatic Models, and many more cutting-edge technologies.
Speaking at NASENI Day during the fair, the Executive Vice Chairman, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, represented by the Director of Information, New Media and Protocol, Mr. Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, emphasized the importance of showcasing the agency's technological advancements.
He highlighted NASENI's ongoing commitment to developing technologies that align with the agency's mandate and the "Renewed Hope" agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who serves as the Chairman of NASENI’s Governing Board.
“Our participation in this fair is aimed at promoting NASENI's technologies and research institutes, not only nationwide but also to an international audience. This event serves as a platform to increase brand awareness and foster greater patronage for the agency's innovations,” he said.
Mr. Ayeoyenikan further noted that previous exhibitions by NASENI have attracted significant attention from stakeholders, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and the general public. The agency has earned awards and secured key partnerships with technology end-users, which demonstrates NASENI's growing influence in the science and technology landscape.
As the only agency of the Federal Government tasked with research and development (R&D), production, reverse engineering, and manufacturing of capital goods, machines, and equipment, NASENI remains focused on driving Nigeria's industrialization and sustainable development.
“Under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu over the past year, NASENI has advanced its mandate to fuel innovation for Nigeria’s industrialization. We have intensified efforts to accelerate technology transfers and domesticate key technologies, resulting in the creation of new products and solutions for SMEs and other end-users,” Mr. Ayeoyenikan added.
This year’s fair, themed "Mobility: Options for Transportation, Trade Finance, and Transportation," has attracted over 500 exhibitors, showcasing more than 10,000 products, solutions, and services to an expected 100,000 participants and visitors.
