The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is driving the digital transformation of Nigeria's economy, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. With a focus on enhancing productivity and economic growth through digital innovation, the NCC is committed to delivering universal, affordable, reliable, and fast telecom services.
The Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, has unveiled a blueprint titled "Accelerating our Collective Prosperity through Technical Efficiency," aimed at supporting Nigeria's economic growth through digital innovation.
The NCC, led by Dr. Aminu Maida, has set strategic focus areas to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda, including:
- Consumers: Ensuring an enhanced Quality of Experience, beyond Quality of Service, through seamless onboarding, quality service, responsive customer service, and protected off-boarding.
- Industry and Licensees: Forging a resilient industry, enhancing regulatory services, tackling industry debt issues, and addressing long-term challenges.
- Government: Supporting the Ministry's vision of boosting economic growth and productivity through technological innovation.
The NCC has directed Mobile Network Operators to conduct an independent audit of their billing systems and is simplifying tariff plans to address consumer complaints on data depletion. The Commission is also collecting granular data to determine quality of service at local levels and deploying optimized solutions or regulatory actions where needed.
By achieving expected Quality of Service KPIs, high-speed internet connectivity, and forging a resilient and innovative telecommunications industry, the NCC is actively supporting the Ministry's vision and delivering on the promise of Renewed Hope for all Nigerians.
