NITDA and ACEPHAP Collaborate to Transform Nigeria's Healthcare Sector through Digital Technology

ABUJA, NIGERIA, 2024 -
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Africa Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) are set to revolutionize Nigeria's healthcare sector through technological innovations. The collaboration aims to leverage digital technology to improve healthcare delivery, aligning with the presidential priority areas and NITDA's Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0).
NITDA's Director General, Kashifu Inuwa, outlined a comprehensive plan to harness technology to enhance healthcare, emphasizing digital literacy, research, cybersecurity, innovation, and partnerships. He highlighted initiatives like the Digital Literacy for All program, training 3 million Nigerians in IT skills, and investing in emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and blockchain.
ACEPHAP's Director, Professor Hadiza Shehu Galadanci, expressed optimism about the collaboration, envisioning a long-lasting relationship that drives transformative change in healthcare. She shared success stories from their healthcare entrepreneurship boot camp and pitching event, supporting young innovators with seed grants.
The partnership aims to foster digital fluency, build robust research ecosystems, ensure data privacy and security, and promote innovation and entrepreneurship in healthcare. NITDA and ACEPHAP are committed to creating a vibrant healthcare sector, aligning with the quadruple helix model, and addressing healthcare challenges through technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Nigeria and Africa.
