NITDA's Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, emphasized the importance of this partnership in harnessing digital technology to promote national security and development.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) was created in April 2001 to implement the Nigerian Information Technology Policy and coordinate general IT development in the country.
The agency's Act (National Information Technology Development Act, 2007) mandates it to create a framework for the planning, research, development, standardization, application, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, and regulation of information technology practices in Nigeria.
